ABOUT US

Vet on Wheels (VOW) Mobile Veterinary Services is owned and operated by Dr. J. P. Dahiya. Providing personalized and affordable service to clients and their pets is our priority. As VOW Ottawa is a small team (Veterinarian and RVT), our service charges are very competitive and affordable

I was born and raised in India, and obtained a Bachelor's in Veterinary Sciences and then Masters in Veterinary Pathology in 2000. After working briefly as field veterinarian, I immigrated to Canada in 2003 to pursue my doctorate from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon (www.usask.ca).

I am a licensed Ontario Veterinarian and a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (www.ovma.org). My primary interests are veterinary pathology and internal medicine. For last several years I have been providing locum veterinary services at various small animal clinics in Ottawa where I have gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of dog and cats.

Since COVID, I have heard so many stories when clients have to wait for weeks, sometimes months to get an appointment with a veterinarian. It breaks my heart when I hear the difficulties a senior citizen has to go through to get to the clinic to get his/her sick pet checked. I cannot believe how many people end up going to other places (including across the border) because either they cannot get an appointment with their vet or they cannot afford the treatment of their beloved pets here in Ottawa.

My main driver to start the Vet on Wheels (VOW) Mobile Veterinary Services is to use my expertise to help the community and help our furry friends. As Vet on Wheels (VOW) Mobile Veterinary Services is a two person team, I am able to keep the prices very competitive and affordable.

In my spare time I enjoy playing field hockey, long distance running and exploring the community with family and friends. I share my home with my beautiful wife (who is also a veterinarian), two teenage sons and our mischievous loving dog - Loki

Dr. J.P. Dahiya, DVM, PhD

I graduated from both the Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician programs from Algonquin College and went on to write the VTNE to become a Registered Vet Tech in 2019. I have been working in general practice veterinary medicine since 2018. I wanted to work alongside Dr. JP in the community because I can’t get enough of seeing and helping our furry friends. 🐶😺

Tina, RVT

I graduated with honors from the Veterinary Assistant program at Algonquin College in 2020 and have been working in general practice ever since. I’m happy to be a part of the Vet On Wheels team as I want to help owners and their pets have a more comfortable experience for their vet visits, and I strive to have a fear free approach for our furry friends!
